How to Sanitize the AquaTru Classic and Connect Base

How to Sanitize the AquaTru Base

  1. Remove the 3 filters.
  2. Insert the small descaling filters. If you do not have these, you can buy them on our website Aquaturwater.com
  3. Fill the tap water tank and add bleach to the water. Add the recommended amount to create sanitizing solutions. Check the instructions on the bleach bottle for the recommended mixing ratio
  4. Place the tank on the base and turn on the unit. The unit will stop filtering before the tank is empty. This is due to the descaling filters and not the AquaTru filters installed in the base. After the unit stops, let it sit for 30 minutes so the descaling solution can eliminate the algae and mold.
  5. After 30 minutes, turn off and on the unit to get it to continue filtering, or lift the tap tank and replace it. Do this until all the water in the tap tank has been filtered.
  6. Remove the two tanks, empty, rinse and fill the tap tank with cold tap water; replace the tanks.
  7. Repeat step 5 until all the water has been filtered.
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 5 one more time.
  9. Remove the descaling filter and reinstall the AquaTru filter.
  10. If you still see mold in the water inlet port or in the filter manifold, you can use a Q-tip to clean all exposed areas, including the water inlet port and filter manifold.
  11. Remove tanks, wash them with soap and water, and replace the tanks.
