If your AquaTru is slowing down (taking more than 30 minutes to filter a tank of water), it’s definitely time to descale to maintain optimal filtration performance.
Just like with your coffee maker, if you have hard water then you will need to perform regular maintenance to descale the AQT every 6-12 months. Please order an AquaTru descaling kit and follow the instructions for descaling your unit.

(!) Failure to descale
The remaining water in the tap tank after filtering has a high concentration of minerals. If the water is not discarded, this will cause scale build-up inside the AquaTru system that can cause the unit to filter slower and eventually even stop functioning, if not treated.
Note: Failure to discard the tap tank & descale in a timely manner can even void your warranty.
